Congratulations on your acceptance to graduate studies! You are beginning an exciting journey that will better prepare you for desired positions in your career. Graduate students engage in small classrooms with faculty and collaborate with students who have similar interests and career goals.
To offically accept our offer of admission, you must complete the Graduate Admission Reply Form sent to you with your acceptance email.
Acceptance to the college requires that all application materials for your academic program are submitted. Your acceptance is contingent upon receipt of proof of graduation from your undergraduate or graduate degree program. It is your responsibility (except Buffalo State graduates) to forward your final official transcript with your degree posted to the Graduate School Office. Recent graduates should arrange to have your final official transcript sent as soon as your degree is confirmed. Failure to meet these conditions will rescind your acceptance to the college and prevent future registrations.
Graduate students must assume full responsibility for knowledge of rules and regulations of the college and department requirements concerning their individual degree programs. For more information, review the Graduate Catalog.

The Graduate School offers an orientation program for degree seeking new students at the beginning of spring and fall semesters. The orientation program provides students an opportunity to learn about academic policies, requirements and available student services. In addition, a program information session is provided for students (in select programs) to meet with a faculty member in their major for program-specific information. Students are strongly encouraged to attend the orientation program.
As a new student, you'll need to access various campus accounts to perform different tasks and get important information. Most of these accounts are accessible from the student MyBuffState page.
Degree Works is the official audit system for degree completion. It should be used in close coordination with the process of academic advisement, including course planning, preparation for the capstone experience, and graduation in relation to the degree, graduate certificate, or certificate of advanced study sought. Students and faculty advisers should work to assure that the audit is accurate and up-to-date.
